COVID-19 In Person Summer Recital 2020 Guidelines

COVID-19 In Person Summer Recital 2020 Guidelines

Below are the Pelican Playhouse Guidelines which must be followed for the “IN PERSON” 2020 Summer Recital. Read more about our Summer 2020 In Person and Virtual classes here.

In order to run a summer session safely, it will require the cooperation of all parties involved.

The following CDC recommended guidelines will be strictly adhered to:

Registration will be on line. (Via text/email to captainwake@bellsouth.net)

We are limiting our participants to 8 (max) or fewer per one-hour session

Each class will be separated by 30 minutes so there will be no cross enter/exiting.

  • 9:00 am – 10am Acting for Young People (Session 1);
  • 10:30 am – 11:30 am Acting for the Stage (Session 2);
  • 12 noon – 1:00 pm Acting for the Stage (Session 3);
  • 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm Acting for the Stage (Session 4); and
  • 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm Acting for the Stage (Session 5).

Temperatures will be taken of all participants before each session and before entering the room.  At my discretion, anyone showing an elevated temperature or any sign of illness will be sent home immediately. (If my temperature is elevated, class will be cancelled until further notice.)

Participants will be required to wash their hands before entering the room. Hand sanitizers will be available inside the room.

Participants will be encouraged to forego hugs, handshakes and fist bumps.

No food or snacks will be allowed. Participants may bring their own water.

Non-participants are not allowed in the rehearsal space.  Check in and pickup will be in the front of the building.  A phone number will be available to contact me.

Participants will be separated by a minimum of six feet. Chairs and spaces for the stage will be marked accordingly.

All participants will be required to wear masks.

The only time a participant can be mask-less is when they are on stage and six feet socially distanced.  (If they are in a scene with other family members with whom they live, they will not need to socially distance with each other.)

Instead of our originally planned 12-week Summer Recital, we will be meeting for 10 weeks, culminating with a one matinee or nighttime performance for each session. Our fee with be $100 instead of our usual $120. Payment can be made by cash or check at the first class.

These precautions are not only for the safety of the participants, but for the safety of all of our families. Please be considerate and abide by all guidelines, as outlined by the CDC.

Hoping to see you this summer!
